My buddies dad uses excel sheets to track all of his bills, payments, and income. He seems to be pretty satisfied with his process.

Money is only as good as the value you give it. I know people who work incredible amount of hours either getting paid well or doing back braking labor and getting paid squat. They work and work and work just to make money to spend on material possessions. I've also know people who live a minimalist materialistic life and are happy as hell. They spend their time living; spending time in nature and doing for the most part only things they want to or feel is for their benefit. One person is greeding over money and missing out on life and their family and the other is taking full advantage of their time on earth.

Why does the school system teach us to save save save our entire lives but anyone who has real money is investing as much as possible?
